Honest comparison

JobMaster vs. the rest.

Three other tools come up a lot when AU job-seekers ask us "what should I use?" Here is where each one is genuinely better, where JobMaster is, and how to pick.

At a glance.

A row-by-row read across the four tools. Claims about other products are based on their public positioning as of 2026-Q2; we will update if their offerings change.

When the other tool is the right call.

JobMaster is specific. If your situation matches one of these descriptions, you might be better off elsewhere.

Pick Teal HQ if

  • You want a free pipeline and resume coach without paying anyone.
  • You hand-pick which roles to track and don't want a tool that scrapes for you.
  • You want a US-focused product where most templates and case studies are US-flavoured.

Pick Simplify Jobs if

  • You apply to dozens of roles a week and the bottleneck is filling the same Workday / Greenhouse forms.
  • You're a student or new grad - their template-and-autofill flow is built around early-career applications.
  • You want a Chrome extension you can install in 30 seconds and forget about.

Pick Huntr if

  • You think visually. The kanban-board UI is the strongest in the category.
  • You want to track contacts, follow-ups, and interview rounds inside the same surface.
  • You don't need automation - you want a tracker that gets out of your way.

Pick JobMaster if

  • You're applying for AU roles and want LinkedIn and Seek searched automatically every day, not saved one at a time.
  • You want a tailored resume and cover letter generated for every role above your match threshold, not on demand.
  • You want AU-dollar pricing with GST, and your data hosted in Sydney rather than a US data centre.
  • You're a Beta Launch user happy to give honest feedback in exchange for a free first month.

Where JobMaster sits.

Trackers vs. automators

Most job tools are trackers: you hand-pick roles, save them, manage your applications through a pipeline. Teal and Huntr are great trackers. They reduce the cognitive load of a job hunt, not the time spent on it.

JobMaster is an automator. You set your profile and your match threshold once; JobMaster does the searching and the writing. The pipeline is still there - it just fills itself.

Form-fillers vs. document-writers

Simplify is the strongest form-filler in the category. It lives in your browser and pre-populates every Workday or Greenhouse application. If your bottleneck is the application form, that's the right tool.

JobMaster's bottleneck is upstream: the resume and cover letter. We write a fresh, tailored version per role rather than autofilling a stored one. The two tools can coexist.

Direct search vs. syndicated feed

Most tools that surface jobs use a single syndicated job-board feed. The user's coverage is whatever that aggregator covers, and it's typically a fraction of LinkedIn and Seek.

JobMaster searches LinkedIn and Seek directly every day. Coverage is dramatically wider, and every match is scored against your profile before it lands in your dashboard.

Australian, in Australian dollars

Every other tool in this comparison is priced in USD and hosted in US data centres. JobMaster is priced in AUD inclusive of GST, with your data isolated in a per-user namespace on Google Cloud (Sydney). For an AU-only job seeker that's a smaller bill, a clearer invoice, and a tighter compliance story.

A clean line we won't cross

We do not auto-submit applications. None of the tools in this comparison do, and we will not be the first. The reason: auto-submission accelerates spam, gets accounts banned from job boards, and removes the last useful human checkpoint before something with your name on it leaves your desk.
